Its 2026 season uses three phases: Sprint Cup, Enduro Cup and Finals.
A round can contain several individual races, so the event count and race count are different. The 2026 plan has fourteen events and 37 races, including longer shared-driver endurance contests and a closing title sequence.
Sprint and endurance are different tasks
Sprint Cup events use several shorter races. The Enduro Cup contains the longer contests at The Bend and Bathurst, where drivers pair up. A co-driver appearing in endurance coverage does not mean every race in the championship uses two drivers per car.
Ten finalists narrow to seven and four
After Bathurst, ten title contenders enter the Finals sequence. The field of contenders reduces by three after each of the first two Finals events, leaving four for Adelaide. Points reset at each Finals stage under the championship format.
Eliminated does not mean absent from the race
The full car field continues competing. A driver eliminated from title contention can still appear on the grid and influence a race result. A timing screen showing that driver is therefore not proof that the elimination has been reversed.
A Grand Final contains multiple races
The 2026 Adelaide programme contains three races. Grand Final names the event phase, rather than necessarily one winner-takes-all race. Preserve the race number before attributing an event-level or championship-level consequence.

Use the edition for historic coverage
The Finals structure began in 2025 and continues in 2026. Earlier seasons should be explained with their own championship system. The enduring Supercars identity does not make every archive programme part of the same title format.
