Its 2026/27 format starts with 20 clubs in one home-and-away regular season, then narrows through the Play-In and playoffs to the Final Four.
The same club may also appear in its domestic competition. A EuroLeague result belongs to the EuroLeague standings, so the competition name matters when two programme listings show the same team.
Every club has 38 regular-season games
Each club meets the other 19 at home and away, giving 38 games per club. Because each fixture involves two clubs, that makes 380 regular-season fixtures across the competition, rather than 760.
A round number identifies a place in the EuroLeague calendar. It is different from a playoff game number such as Game 3, which counts matches within one particular series.
The table creates three different outcomes
The leading six clubs qualify directly for the playoffs. The next four enter the Play-In Showdown to contest the final two playoff places. Clubs outside those ten do not enter that postseason route.
Finishing sixth and finishing seventh are consequently different thresholds. Both positions can lead to the playoffs, but seventh requires further qualification. A table graphic near that boundary is showing more than a change of seed.
Series basketball gives way to single games
Eight playoff clubs form four best-of-five series. A club needs three wins to take its series; the four series winners become the Final Four. A Game 4 or Game 5 is conditional on the series still being alive.
The Final Four then uses single semi-finals and a championship game. It does not extend the earlier best-of-five series. A “Final Four semi-final” and a “playoff semi-final” from another basketball competition should not be treated as equivalent programme labels.
