Its current help separates the Channels area from event streams and recognises paid Event Pass viewing for selected sport. Finding the event and reading its access conditions are therefore separate from recognising the TVNZ+ name.
Channels is the current home for linear viewing
TVNZ’s help explains that the former Live TV area is now called Channels. It brings together familiar television channels and additional streaming channels. Use its guide when you want to see what a channel is showing at a particular time.
The name change matters when following older instructions that ask you to find Live TV. It does not mean every sporting event is confined to the ordinary channel guide. A dedicated event stream can be a separate listing within the service.
Sport listings can offer a different route
The current sports help directs viewers to dedicated event streams as well as broadcasts carried on TVNZ channels. Events may offer live viewing or a start-from-beginning choice where available. Read the actual event listing and its current controls instead of assuming that every live broadcast provides the same replay options.
For a hypothetical viewer arriving after kick-off, the relevant question is whether that event currently offers a restart or replay. The availability of such a control for another match is not evidence that it exists for this one. Upcoming event listings may also display a countdown rather than a playable stream.
A free service identity does not make every event free
TVNZ+ is widely associated with advertising-supported entertainment, but current official sport guidance also describes paid Event Pass access. Check whether the event you want requires a pass and read its conditions before arranging viewing. General account sign-in and an event entitlement answer different questions.
Keep the event title, date and purchase confirmation together if a pass is required. If access fails, specify whether you selected a channel or a dedicated event stream and what the screen requests. That gives support a concrete access problem without assuming that all TVNZ+ programmes share one price, replay window or entitlement.
