Separate Free from the storeLive channels follow a scheduleA rental has two related clocksRakuten TV offers several modes: selected free ad-supported viewing, continuous Live TV channels and individual rentals or purchases. Those modes can appear within the same service but carry different access conditions. Read the actual title or channel offer before proceeding.
Separate Free from the store
Rakuten TV Free is a selected ad-supported collection, not a statement that every film found in the app is free. The store’s rental and purchase actions are separate transactions. Open the exact title and inspect the price or free-viewing label.
A hypothetical viewer browsing a new release should not infer inclusion from an adjacent Free collection. The commercial action on that film’s detail page is the decisive information.
Live channels follow a schedule
Rakuten’s Live TV help describes continuous ad-supported channels. These are a different route from selecting a film in the on-demand collection. A channel showing a title now does not by itself describe a personal rental or a permanently selectable copy.
If you want one film from its opening scene, inspect the current on-demand offer. If you want ongoing channel browsing, use the live guide and current programme information. Keep those purposes separate in a household viewing list.
A rental has two related clocks
The current rental help gives an overall 30-day window from the transaction and a 48-hour window after first playback, with the latter included within the former. Check the remaining countdown in the Library rather than assume a late first play extends the original deadline.
For a hypothetical weekend plan, choose the rental when both the viewing schedule and the displayed offer make sense. Starting a film as a preview can begin the shorter clock, so treat the first play as part of the viewing decision.
Account and device requirements can differ between free and paid routes. Use the current local Rakuten TV offer and the actual supported player for the chosen mode. Keep the title, transaction type, account and Library timing together for later access questions.
