For existing owners, the useful distinction is its combination of Android TV streaming applications and the separate Dune HD media-center environment.
Dune describes the media-center software as a Linux-based Dune HD environment running alongside Android TV through a special app. A local media library and an IPTV service account are separate uses.

An Android TV player installed from the supported app route belongs to the Android TV side. Dune’s media center provides its own file browsing and local/network media functions. Instructions for one interface should not be presented as menus in the other.
When contacting support, name the app or environment that is open. “The Dune player” could mean hardware, the media-center application or another Android TV application, each with different settings.
Understand the storage feature
The Premier product includes a 2.5-inch drive rack, and Dune specifies a maximum drive height of 9.5 mm. That feature concerns local storage; it does not supply streamed content or a service subscription. Follow model-specific fitting and software instructions before adding a drive.
A movie library on a drive, an SMB/NFS network share and a provider portal are different sources. Confirm what the chosen player accepts instead of entering every address into the same field.
Maintain the existing setup deliberately
Use Dune’s current support route for this exact model and retain a private record of app names, account formats and storage configuration. A suggested replacement product on a manufacturer page is not evidence that firmware or app activation can be transferred unchanged.
For Dream 4K, ask which player and service input are suitable for the installed Android TV environment. Do not infer compatibility from another branded Homatics or Dune model with similar specifications. Separate hardware decoding capability from the actual programme resolution and available audio tracks.
