Turn on the reportRead the two kinds of evidenceConnect the observation to a featureShare a focused questionApp Privacy Report can show how an iPhone or iPad app uses granted permissions and contacts network domains. Apple supports it from iOS 15.2 and iPadOS 15.2. It begins gathering information only after you turn it on.
Use it to ask specific questions about a player’s behavior. A domain appearing in the report is an observation to interpret, not by itself proof of harmful activity or a guarantee that the app is safe.
Turn on the report
- Open Settings > Privacy & Security.
- Scroll to App Privacy Report.
- Select Turn on App Privacy Report.
- Use the intended app normally for the feature you want to inspect.
- Return to the report after it has had time to collect activity.
Read the two kinds of evidence
Apple’s report includes data/sensor access and network activity. The access section shows when and how often supported sensitive information or sensors were used during the past seven days. The network sections describe app and website domain contacts.
A permission allowed in Settings does not mean it was used during every viewing session. Conversely, the absence of activity before reporting was enabled tells you nothing about earlier use. Keep the observation window in mind.
Connect the observation to a feature
Think about what you did in the app: opening a local file, searching a catalogue or connecting to another device are different actions. Compare the developer’s stated purpose with the reported activity and permission choices.
If a permission seems unnecessary for your use, review its category under Privacy & Security and consult the developer’s explanation. Change one choice at a time and check the relevant feature afterward. Do not assume every network domain is the provider’s streaming server; third-party components can have their own roles.
Share a focused question
A useful developer question names the app version, action, permission or domain and approximate time. Redact private URLs, account identifiers and other sensitive data before sharing the report.
Apple says the report data is encrypted and stored on the device, and turning the feature off clears that report data. Keep any observations you need before disabling it. This does not mean the app’s own settings or provider account are deleted.
App Store privacy information and App Privacy Report are complementary: one presents declared practices, while the report reflects collected device observations. Neither can establish Dream 4K compatibility, programme availability or the terms of an independent player licence. Keep those selection questions separate.
