Check the streaming listing for a particular filmSupplements are a separate viewing choiceLinked sign-in does not mean shared billingCriterion Channel is a US and Canadian streaming service with rotating films, curated collections and supplementary material. The Criterion Collection also publishes physical editions. A shared brand and account relationship do not make a disc purchase and a streaming subscription the same commercial product.
Check the streaming listing for a particular film
Criterion’s FAQ says not every physical Collection release is available on the Channel. Open the actual streaming title or the film’s stated Channel availability rather than infer it from a disc-shop listing. A monthly collection is a useful discovery route, not a permanent promise for every film.
A hypothetical viewer who owns a disc may still need to inspect the current streaming offer. Likewise, a Channel member should not treat a disc for sale as automatically included merchandise or a download entitlement.
Supplements are a separate viewing choice
The Channel includes introductions, interviews, video essays, commentary and other supporting material. Actual film pages can list those items under Supplements. Read the label and runtime so a trailer or discussion is not mistaken for the full feature.
For a hypothetical film-study evening, choose the feature first and then the particular interview or essay you want. Save the item’s own title if recommending it later; a link to the film collection does not identify one exact supplementary programme.
Linked sign-in does not mean shared billing
Criterion’s current FAQ says same-email accounts on its shop and Channel have linked sign-in from 24 September 2026, while billing remains separate. A successful shop login therefore should not be treated as proof of an active streaming subscription.
Keep the account identity, commercial product and title offer together. If playback asks for membership, inspect the Channel subscription rather than assume a merchandise order pays for it. If a particular film is unavailable, inspect its current listing before changing account credentials.
Use current official requirements for the intended playback device and region. This reference does not extend the US/Canada service to other countries or imply that every film and supplement appears in all formats.
