The manufacturer’s Android 14 update announcement describes OTA availability for named models already using Android 14. That statement should not be turned into an instruction to install the same file on every Ugoos box.
Keep three identifiers together
Record the full hardware model, Android version and Ugoos firmware version. An AM8, AM8 Pro, AM9 or SK-series name can appear near another model’s download without sharing the same full firmware image.
Manufacturer download lists may contain historical releases, release notes, update archives and reflashing instructions. The page’s newest entry does not establish which operation is appropriate for the current unit.
An OTA update and a clean image are different
Ugoos describes built-in Update Service delivery for eligible Android 14 devices. It separately links full firmware images and model-specific reflashing guidance. Use the documented operation, prerequisites and recovery information rather than treating both downloads as interchangeable.
If the unit runs the Android 11 branch, do not infer its major-upgrade process solely from an Android 14 maintenance announcement. Find the exact manufacturer instructions for that transition before changing the operating system.
System software is separate from the player
A Ugoos firmware release can update system behavior and bundled components. A player APK update changes a particular application and still has Android identity/signing requirements. A provider login or playlist refresh is another operation again.
Name the actual task before choosing a download. A playlist refresh should not require reflashing the box, and a firmware image should not be entered into a player’s source field.
Assess the result at the appropriate layer
After a supported update, read the installed version and check the functions you use: remote navigation, network connection, display output and the chosen player. Manufacturer release notes describe intended changes; they are not a record of testing your specific service.
Keep recoverable account information and follow the update procedure’s stated data consequences. If an update is not offered, report the exact model and branch to Ugoos support rather than substituting a file intended for another device.
