These are separate access paths. Identify the one you need before choosing a plan or interpreting a sports tile as proof that all live CBS programming is included.
Choose between a station and a programme
If you want the local station’s continuous schedule, check the US Premium offer and the local CBS feed in the Live TV area. If you only want a drama after it has aired, search the programme’s episode page and read its current release information.
A hypothetical viewer who follows a weekly series the following evening may not need continuous local television for that task. Another viewer who wants local news as broadcast has a station requirement, not merely a series-library requirement. The word CBS alone does not distinguish them.
Handle the football exception precisely
Paramount+ documents local NFL-on-CBS games as available with both US Essential and Premium, subject to the local market’s game. It also explicitly says that Essential does not otherwise include the subscriber’s continuous local live CBS station.
This is an important boundary. Finding a local game under Essential does not establish access to the station’s entire daily schedule, and it does not establish every NFL game. For a match you care about, check the current local listing rather than relying on a general league logo.
| What you want | What to check |
|---|---|
| Continuous local CBS | Premium offer and local station availability |
| A new CBS series episode | Exact episode page and release timing |
| An NFL-on-CBS game | The game assigned to your local CBS market |
| Another live sport | Current event-specific access and plan conditions |
Confirm timing at episode level
The provider says new current CBS episodes generally arrive the day after broadcast, with availability varying by programme. Open the intended season and episode. A series page with older episodes is not evidence that tonight’s episode is already ready to play.
If your plan is to watch later, make a short note of the expected release and recheck when that time arrives. Avoid converting the service’s general release description into a fixed promise for a special broadcast, delayed programme or individual title.
Check the actual account and location
Use the account you intend to watch with and verify its current plan. A partner-billed offer can create an extra account-management step, so keep the confirmation and identify who handles billing. Inspect the exact local feed or event tile on the supported device before the programme begins.
For example, in a hypothetical household, one person might hold a Paramount+ subscription through a partner while another opens a different email login on the television. Resolving the account identity is more useful than buying another plan before checking what is already held.
Expect the appropriate advertising context
Live television contains commercial breaks even when the plan provides mostly ad-free on-demand viewing. Read the feature and exception wording for the current offer. Decide based on the programmes and playback mode you need, then save the result as a station check, episode check or event check so it remains understandable later.
