The output may look precise while its most important assumption is unknown. Make the missing value visible before using the result in a quote or business decision.
Dream’s published credit package rates do not establish the consumption of a specific service action in the supplied evidence.
Zero is a numeric claim
If a worksheet uses c for credits consumed, c = 0 means the action consumes zero credits under that model. It does not mean nobody has checked yet. Use a clearly labelled pending or not-confirmed state for an unknown input. This prevents a direct cost cell from showing an apparently free action simply because the field was unfinished.
Keep the action scope beside the input
Ask the provider about the exact operation, term and permitted configuration. New account creation, renewal and correction should not be treated as identical without confirmation. Record the source and effective date of the answer. A consumption rule from another provider is not a substitute for the missing Dream input.
Use variables honestly
The direct credit-cost input can be written c × r, where r is the relevant purchased-credit cost. If c is unconfirmed, the expression can remain visible without a numerical result. Actual additional costs belong under separate labels. A useful worksheet should explain why it cannot yet answer the question rather than reward filling every cell with a number.
Consider the quote consequence
An agent who copies an incomplete result into a customer quote can turn an internal placeholder into an apparent promise. Before quoting, review the material inputs and approval scope. If a necessary condition remains unresolved, ask the responsible party and explain the actual dependency. Do not conceal the gap by using a convenient familiar conversion.
Preserve the confirmed version
When the provider answer arrives, update the input with its source and scope, then review any dependent result. Keep the version used for an earlier quote where relevant. The final calculation should be reproducible and limited to what it includes. It does not establish revenue, demand, commission, resale permission or a guaranteed margin.
A worksheet owner can add a short dependency note beside the pending value: which provider question is outstanding and where its answer will be recorded. That makes the gap actionable for a colleague. It also prevents a later reviewer from replacing the placeholder with a remembered convention simply to make the sheet calculate. The missing input should lead to a question, not a guess.
Questions about this guide
Can I use a temporary estimate if I label it clearly?
An internal scenario can use explicitly hypothetical inputs, but keep it separate from confirmed costs and customer offers. State the assumption and avoid presenting its output as a provider rule. A real quote needs the material applicable conditions clarified.
