Its eleventh edition in 2026 expanded to eight teams. Each team had ten league matches, followed by a top-four play-off route.
The expansion did not create a full home-and-away league against all seven opponents. The teams were arranged in two sets of four, with a different meeting frequency inside and outside each set. That is the key to understanding the fixture count.
Two sets govern the opponent pattern
A team faced each of its three set-mates twice and each of the four teams outside its set once. Six matches inside the set plus four outside made ten. The set allocation describes the scheduling pattern; it should not be mistaken for a promise of fourteen matches against seven opponents twice.
The table leads into a four-team finish
The top four qualified for the play-off stage. The season’s official materials identify a Qualifier, Eliminator 1, Eliminator 2 and Final. Shortened programme titles may vary between Qualifier 2 and second Eliminator language, so preserve the full round description supplied with the match.
Forty league fixtures before four play-offs
Eight teams playing ten league matches create 80 team appearances. Each fixture uses two appearances, so the league total is 40 matches. Four play-off fixtures take the edition total to 44. This is a count of sporting fixtures, not the number of programmes a broadcaster might make from them.

The PCB revised the 2026 venue plan after its first announcement, reducing the host locations to Lahore and Karachi. A first published schedule and the final edition record are therefore not interchangeable. For retrospective coverage, the match’s actual stage and venue take precedence over an earlier promotional plan. This guide preserves the format without reproducing a stale fixture timetable.
