A network lineup, a programme airing and a saved recording are separate pieces of the viewing plan. Start with the local offer and the specific programme rather than the broad YouTube brand.
Local availability begins with the viewing area
Google’s official availability guide directs viewers to check the home ZIP code for local networks and add-ons. Use the intended home area rather than a national channel list when a local bulletin, station or regional sport is essential.
A hypothetical household replacing a local station should first confirm the actual affiliate in the current area lookup. The existence of that network’s brand in a national description is not enough to settle the local programme requirement.
Live viewing and the Library serve different needs
The live guide helps with programmes airing now. Adding a show, team or event to the Library creates recording behaviour for eligible airings. A title visible in search and a recorded full episode are not automatically the same thing.
If a programme is important, inspect its schedule and add it in advance. Google’s recording guide explains that adding an episode while it is already airing starts the recording at that point, with a later full rerun potentially replacing the partial copy.
Location affects recording as well as playback
YouTube TV’s home-area guidance ties viewing and recording to the relevant location and describes conditions when away from home. Check those current rules before relying on a local station while travelling. A successful account sign-in does not establish the same local network offer everywhere.
Keep the home area, actual location, network and programme together in any viewing note. If a recording is missing, distinguish a programme not yet captured from a network unavailable in the current context. Those require different checks.
For a household guide, record the live network route and any Library entry separately. Use current Google help for exact supported features, device limits and restrictions rather than assuming a television subscription provides an unlimited archive of everything ever broadcast.
