Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation identifies three local television services and a separate digital destination, SBC+. Its programme context includes Creole, English and French, so a country label alone does not settle the preferred bulletin or production language.

SBC television and SBC+ are different levels of identity

SBC’s institutional description identifies SBC1, SBC2 and SBC3 alongside its radio services. Its FAQ describes SBC+ as a destination bringing local and other television services together. The digital platform and one individual local channel are not the same kind of name.

A programme request should retain the exact local service and title. A platform description does not establish another provider’s channel list or every programme’s language options.

Language and programme format both matter

The broadcaster’s own SBC+ app description identifies Creole, English and French programme contexts. For a particular bulletin or series, preserve the edition and spoken-language preference rather than assuming that every service is entirely in one language.

A hypothetical household can value local Creole news and an imported programme in its original language. Those are different programme choices within the same broadcasting environment, not proof of separate all-day language feeds.

A dated guide is a snapshot

SBC publishes detailed programme PDFs with titles, episodes, repeats and ratings. Its February 2026 SBC1 guide is a useful example of that structure. It should not be used as a timetable for a different week.

When identifying a remembered programme, an old guide can supply the title or episode. When planning live viewing, use the current dated guide instead. A repeat marker or episode number is meaningful and should not be dropped from a comparison.

Keep local and international identities separate

SBC’s own distribution environment can include international services as well as its local channels. That grouping does not turn an international news brand into a locally produced Seychellois bulletin.

For news, retain the programme and edition; for a drama, retain the episode and desired language version; for sport, retain the fixture and current announcement. This keeps local editorial identity visible without implying universal carriage or event rights.
