For Senegalese viewing, retain Radio Télévision Sénégalaise and the actual service or programme title so a short international guide label does not obscure the intended broadcaster.
Two recognizable Senegalese television references
RTS’s official site separately identifies RTS 1 and RTS 2. Its RTS 2 page emphasizes entertainment and sport, with named magazine, cultural and arts programmes. The full service name is more useful than a bare numeral inside a mixed-country list.
The broadcaster also presents radio destinations separately. A familiar RTS institutional label should therefore be paired with television or radio when the media type is unclear.
Local titles preserve the programme’s identity
RTS 2’s official selection includes names such as École des Arts, Carré Culture and La Matinale Sportive. Those titles distinguish a cultural programme from a sports magazine even when both appear under the same service.
Keep the original title rather than translating every entry into broad English genres. An English note can explain the subject for a household, but it should remain secondary to the title used by the broadcaster.
A cultural production and an event transmission differ
RTS 1’s current programme-related reporting names Les Larmes des Émigrés in its cultural coverage. A production reference helps identify a work; a current schedule is still needed to establish a particular episode or transmission.
A hypothetical diaspora household seeking a familiar drama has a different need from someone following a national sporting event. The country connection can matter to both, while the exact production or fixture determines the useful programme reference.
Do not infer one language from a short label
A broadcaster’s institutional page or written article language does not establish the spoken language and subtitles of every programme. If language is the reason for viewing, record it alongside the title and episode.
For a live event, preserve the date and published time reference. These details identify the intended Senegalese service without assuming that an RTS logo establishes package inclusion or that a similarly abbreviated broadcaster elsewhere has the same programmes.
