Nepal’s National Information Commission documents NTV National, NTV Plus, NTV News, NTV Kohalpur and NTV Itahari in its public-information material. Nepal Telecom’s current NTTV list also names Nepal TV, NTV News, NTV Plus and the two regional services.
Those sources establish recognizable service names without requiring a guess based on a logo. A short “NTV” entry may still be incomplete when the viewer specifically means the news or regional service.
Kohalpur and Itahari preserve regional meaning
The regional words distinguish the intended service. A viewer following a programme associated with Kohalpur should keep that name alongside the title, rather than replacing it with an undifferentiated Nepali news category.
Likewise, a household now living abroad may want news from a former home region. The place where the screen is located does not replace the programme’s regional identity. Both pieces of context can matter, but they answer different questions.
A provider list is evidence of its own offering
Nepal Telecom publishes channel positions, categories and format labels for NTTV. Those details belong to that platform. A number or HD label from its table should not be copied as a universal promise about another provider.
The useful transferable information is the full service name. Access through an unrelated subscription requires a separate confirmation. Technical labels in one operator’s table also do not prove the encoding or resolution of a different stream bearing the same brand.
State the programme, not just the language
For news, retain the edition and date. For entertainment, use the original programme title and episode where known. A broad Nepali-language preference is useful but can include many different services and programmes.
If identifying an old favourite, keep the remembered label and add a current official reference. This helps distinguish a changed guide label from an actually different programme, while avoiding assumptions that the complete historical line-up is still current.
