Two recognizable TDM television referencesEnglish programming does not mean every programme is EnglishCross-border Portuguese content has its own originA dated institutional profile is not a current timetableMacao’s public broadcaster has distinct Chinese- and Portuguese-language television identities, with some English programming in its wider offering. A country or territory label alone cannot identify the programme version a household wants.
Two recognizable TDM television references
Macao’s government information account identifies TDM-Ou Mun as a Chinese-language service and Canal Macau as Portuguese-language television. It separately identifies Chinese- and Portuguese-language radio. Preserve both the service and media type.
A viewer seeking Portuguese television should retain Canal Macau rather than an undifferentiated TDM label. A radio programme with related institutional branding is a different format and schedule.
English programming does not mean every programme is English
The government account describes some English programming on TDM’s Portuguese-language channels, alongside an English news website and app. These are distinct language contexts.
A person wanting an English bulletin should identify the actual programme or edition. An English article about a television production does not establish that production’s spoken language. Original dialogue, translated audio and subtitles should remain separate preferences.
Cross-border Portuguese content has its own origin
The same official account discusses programmes from other Portuguese-speaking countries within TDM’s broader cultural exchange. A Portuguese soundtrack does not automatically establish a Macao production or a locally focused editorial perspective.
A hypothetical household can value local Macao news and a Portuguese-language documentary from elsewhere for different reasons. Keep the original title and producing/transmitting service so those interests remain recognizable.
A dated institutional profile is not a current timetable
The official forty-year account provides broadcaster and language context. Use the current TDM programme destination for a particular transmission rather than carrying an old portfolio total or programme time forward.
For news, add the edition and date; for a series, add the episode. A live-service reference establishes the destination, while programme information establishes the version. Neither proves an unrelated subscription’s carriage, regional rights or identical subtitle delivery.
