Rai is the organization, not one programme stream
Rai Com’s own international description distinguishes Rai 1, Rai 2, Rai 3 and Rai News 24. Rai 1 is presented with broad family programming, while Rai News 24 identifies a continuous news service. A request for a scheduled family show is therefore different from a request for rolling news.
Use the numbered channel name when it is known. The broad word “Rai” may be enough to identify the publisher but leaves the actual service unresolved.
Rai 3 and a regional news requirement
A regional news interest is best expressed with its exact bulletin or regional label. Do not assume a national-looking channel entry identifies the locality the viewer remembers. If a programme title includes a region, preserve it rather than shortening everything to a general Italian news folder.
For an emigrant household, the relevant hometown region can differ from the place where the television is now located. Explain both only when needed: the desired editorial region identifies the content, while the current viewing location concerns access and scheduling.
International names need their own schedule
Rai’s international distribution material provides a useful starting point for recognizing its services abroad. An international brand should nevertheless be treated as a distinct schedule unless the broadcaster explicitly identifies the transmission being compared. It is not safe to infer a complete domestic simulcast from an Italian-language logo.
A hypothetical viewer remembering a variety show should retain the show title and episode or date. If a guide lists a repeat, that can satisfy a different need from seeing the first live transmission; the matching title alone does not tell you which one it is.
Keep television numbers in their context
Rai’s Televideo publishes channel numbering for its own reception context. Numbers copied from that context should not be treated as universal positions inside another guide. The service name remains useful even when a platform assigns a different position.
For a sports event, add the specific fixture and date. A channel’s general entertainment or sports identity is background information; current event announcements establish the relevant transmission. This guide makes no claim about a particular subscription’s line-up.
