It should not be merged into a Spanish-language category simply because a broader regional folder is called Latin America.
TV Brasil has a defined public-service purpose
TV Brasil’s official institutional description identifies a national public television role with information, culture, arts, science and citizenship-focused programming. It is managed by Empresa Brasil de Comunicação, which also identifies other media services.
A request for TV Brasil should retain the complete service name. The EBC organization name is broader than one television channel, while a cultural or science subject is broader than a particular programme.
Portuguese audio is not the same as Spanish subtitles
A household seeking Brazilian Portuguese dialogue should specify that preference, especially when browsing a mixed regional catalogue. A Portuguese original, a Spanish-dubbed version and a version with translated subtitles are different editions.
For a series or documentary, retain the original Portuguese title and episode. If a translated title is also known, keep it as a secondary clue rather than replacing the original. That makes it easier to distinguish a programme from a similarly named production elsewhere.
Domestic and international branding need separate references
TV Brasil’s institutional account names TV Brasil Internacional within the wider EBC media context. An international identity should not automatically be assumed to be a complete simultaneous domestic copy.
For a dated programme, use the exact service and published schedule. A hypothetical viewer following a Brazilian cultural magazine from abroad may need the programme title and edition more than a broad country category. Current access should be resolved separately from the programme’s Brazilian origin.
Distinguish programme genre from a live-event claim
A national public channel can carry cultural, educational and other programmes without being the broadcaster for every event in the country. A sporting fixture, performance or public ceremony needs a dated transmission reference.
The official service profile establishes editorial identity. It does not establish a particular subscription’s carriage, title catalogue, audio tracks or international programme rights. Keep those questions tied to the specific programme or service rather than inferring them from a Brazilian logo.
