A missing PiP option is therefore not automatically a service-account problem.
Check the chosen player’s documentation and the actual video route before relying on multitasking during viewing.
Start with a supported video
While the video is playing, use the Minimize Video control if the app exposes it. On an iPad with a Home button, Apple also documents using Home. The video can shrink to a corner while you open another app.
If Start PiP Automatically is enabled under the relevant Multitasking & Gestures settings, supported playback can continue in PiP when you leave the app. Use the current iPadOS settings for the device rather than a phone tutorial with different menus.
Control the floating window
| Action | Apple’s documented control |
|---|---|
| Make the window larger or smaller | Pinch open or closed |
| Move it | Drag to another corner |
| Show playback controls | Tap the window |
| Temporarily hide it | Drag off the left or right edge |
| Return to full-screen video | Use Restore Full Screen |
| Close it | Use the Close control |
Check the exact failure
Distinguish no PiP control, a window opening but video stopping, and a control that is present but difficult to operate. The first can be app/video support; another behavior may need the player developer’s help.
Keep the app and video constant when checking a setting. Opening a different player or casting the video to a television changes the playback route and may change which controls are available.
Keep expectations and privacy clear
PiP does not change a streaming-service connection allowance or enable an extra programme stream. It changes how one supported video is displayed while other iPad tasks are used. Ask the provider separately about account terms if you plan additional devices or simultaneous viewing.
When sending a support screenshot, close private messages and account screens visible behind the floating window. The small video may be only one part of what the screenshot captures.
Include the iPad model, iPadOS version, player version, whether PiP was started manually or automatically and the action that stopped working. That information gives support a concrete multitasking case without assuming every iPad player offers identical features.
