That does not automatically mean the guide is wrong or the episode is missing.
KBS WORLD’s FAQ states that the delay from domestic KBS television varies by programme. The useful comparison therefore begins with the exact episode and service, rather than one assumed rule for every series.
There is no single documented universal delay
KBS WORLD explains that holdback between domestic KBS television and its international service is programme-dependent. A fixed statement such as “every episode arrives the next day” would go beyond that guidance.
For a drama, variety show or documentary, preserve the original series title and episode number. A series-level match is insufficient when the two schedules refer to different instalments, repeats or compilation editions.
A hypothetical calendar comparison
Imagine an invented drama whose domestic episode 4 is announced for Monday, while an international guide lists episode 4 for Thursday. This example is not an actual KBS schedule. The difference could be a legitimate programme-specific international arrangement; the domestic date alone cannot settle it.
Now imagine the international entry is actually episode 3. That is a different comparison again. Before discussing a delay, verify the episode identifier rather than comparing only the series name and weekday.
Three kinds of date can appear
A first domestic broadcast, an international channel transmission and an on-demand release are separate events. An article about the premiere may refer to the first, a channel guide to the second and a catalogue page to the third.
Keep the source type in the note. “Available Thursday” is incomplete if it does not say whether that means a live international transmission or a digital episode release. The correct meaning comes from the actual programme page or schedule.
Language format is another independent field
KBS WORLD’s service profile describes Korean programming with multilingual subtitles. A viewer seeking English subtitles is not necessarily asking for English dubbed audio. The desired format should be attached to the episode reference.
A domestic promotional clip may identify a production without establishing the translated version that a viewer will receive elsewhere. Likewise, a general service profile does not prove every subtitle language is available for every programme through every access route.
Build a useful episode comparison
| Detail | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Original series title | Avoids confusion between translated titles |
| Episode number or date | Ensures both references concern the same instalment |
| Domestic or international service | Identifies which schedule applies |
| First transmission, repeat or digital release | Separates different publication events |
| Required subtitle or audio language | Identifies the version being sought |
When to use a current programme announcement
For a particular episode, use KBS WORLD’s current schedule or title-specific announcement. The FAQ explains why schedules can differ; it does not supply a release date for an individual show. Access through another subscription remains a separate matter from resolving that programme date.
