Start with the symptom
Find whether interruptions follow the network, one source or the player before changing quality.
On Roku, begin with a precise description of when the symptom occurs. Keep one source and one account selected, then change one part of the setup. That makes the result useful to both you and support.
Checks for Roku
Confirm that a currently supported viewing route exists before diagnosing it as a Dream application failure. Native Roku viewing and screen mirroring have different requirements. APK installation is not a Roku workflow.
| Part of the setup | Check on Roku |
|---|---|
| App and installation | Check the Roku store for a currently supported application and authorized viewing route before buying a service for this device. |
| Controls | Confirm whether viewing runs in a native Roku app or through screen mirroring. Those routes have different controls. |
| Connection | For mirroring, inspect both the sending device and Roku network connection. For native playback, test the Roku connection directly. |
| Playback | Test the actual route that will be used. Phone playback does not demonstrate native Roku compatibility. |
Work through the checks in order
- Compare one second source at the same time
Check the Roku store for a currently supported application and authorized viewing route before buying a service for this device.
- Try the same device on Ethernet when supported
Confirm whether viewing runs in a native Roku app or through screen mirroring. Those routes have different controls.
- Pause large household transfers
For mirroring, inspect both the sending device and Roku network connection. For native playback, test the Roku connection directly.
- Lower one quality setting for a controlled test
Test the actual route that will be used. Phone playback does not demonstrate native Roku compatibility.
- Record the time and how long playback lasts
Roku does not run Android APKs. Do not assume the Dream installers support Roku.
Read the result
| Observed result | Next action |
|---|---|
| Only one source pauses | report that feed |
| All sources pause only on Wi-Fi | inspect local wireless conditions |
| Wired and wireless fail together | check the account, route and service status |
Repeat only the comparison that changed the result. If a setting made no difference, restore it before trying the next step. Keep the source label, approximate time and player version with your notes.
Before making a larger change
Roku does not run Android APKs. Do not assume the Dream installers support Roku.
A factory reset, complete account deletion or router-wide change is a much larger action than restarting a player. Keep those actions outside this sequence unless the responsible support team identifies a clear reason and recovery path.
Get the right support
Use WhatsApp support and describe the device, operating system, player version, account method, network type and time zone. Say whether one feed, one title, one group or the whole account is affected.
Keep usernames, passwords, full playlist links, device keys and payment evidence out of public screenshots. If support needs an account identifier, provide it privately through the established conversation. Do not send bank-card numbers in the order or help form.
