Start with the symptom
Determine whether the offset belongs to one source, the player or an external audio chain.
On Apple TV, begin with a precise description of when the symptom occurs. Keep one source and one account selected, then change one part of the setup. That makes the result useful to both you and support.
Checks for Apple TV
Record the Apple device, operating-system release and App Store player. Dream Android APKs are not iOS, iPadOS or tvOS installers. AirPlay and direct playback need separate tests.
| Part of the setup | Check on Apple TV |
|---|---|
| App and installation | Use the Apple TV App Store on models that support it. Select a tvOS player with the correct login method. |
| Controls | Test the Siri Remote’s focus and playback buttons. Confirm a phone is not the only way to complete account entry. |
| Connection | Compare Wi-Fi with Ethernet if your Apple TV model includes it. A wired test on another device is not equivalent. |
| Playback | Start with normal video and audio settings. Change frame-rate matching or audio output only one setting at a time. |
Work through the checks in order
- Test built-in or direct TV audio
Use the Apple TV App Store on models that support it. Select a tvOS player with the correct login method.
- Compare another source
Test the Siri Remote’s focus and playback buttons. Confirm a phone is not the only way to complete account entry.
- Check an available audio-delay control
Compare Wi-Fi with Ethernet if your Apple TV model includes it. A wired test on another device is not equivalent.
- Restart the playback session
Start with normal video and audio settings. Change frame-rate matching or audio output only one setting at a time.
- Record whether the offset grows
Apple TV hardware, the Apple TV app and an Apple TV+ membership are separate products.
Read the result
| Observed result | Next action |
|---|---|
| Constant offset on one source | source or player delay |
| External audio only | receiver route |
| Offset grows | decoding or timing |
Repeat only the comparison that changed the result. If a setting made no difference, restore it before trying the next step. Keep the source label, approximate time and player version with your notes.
Before making a larger change
Apple TV hardware, the Apple TV app and an Apple TV+ membership are separate products.
A factory reset, complete account deletion or router-wide change is a much larger action than restarting a player. Keep those actions outside this sequence unless the responsible support team identifies a clear reason and recovery path.
Get the right support
Use WhatsApp support and describe the device, operating system, player version, account method, network type and time zone. Say whether one feed, one title, one group or the whole account is affected.
Keep usernames, passwords, full playlist links, device keys and payment evidence out of public screenshots. If support needs an account identifier, provide it privately through the established conversation. Do not send bank-card numbers in the order or help form.
